Manayunk, Philadelphia
Bounded by Ridge Avenue and the mouth of Wissahickon Creek to the south, Pechin Street to the east, Fountain Street to the north and the Schuylkill River to the west, and includes the Flat Rock Dam and the Manayunk Canal is the town of Manayunk. A small town in Philly that was mostly populated during the 1820 threw 1830 named from a Native American words "place to drink". Manayunk was full of industries and immigrants to populate the factories and industries that were located on the canal. For each of the ethnicity there was a church. There was Polish, German, Italian and the Irish who had two churches.
Now, it's full of shops and restaurants that many people to enjoy. Throught this website you can read about the churches, the history, the festivals and the current events of the town. The town life is something that I have been in since I was born. I know that it is a very small town but it's a very nice environment.
